To work on your English
- Follow the highlighted word
The word being spoken is highlighted during reading, so you link the written word to its sound.
- Slow down
At 0.75×, each word stands out more clearly, and the voice does not get any deeper.
- Compare accents
George has a British accent and Heart an American one: switch voices and listen to the same sentence again.
The steps
- 1. Add Paste the English text: the language is detected, and you can change it if needed.
- 2. Listen Press play: the current sentence is highlighted, and so is the word being spoken. Tap a sentence to jump to it.
- 3. Adjust Speed from 0.75× to 3×, your choice of voice, and pitch, warmth and clarity settings on the Voices page.
- 4. Pick up later The document stays in your library: reading resumes at the sentence where you stopped.
What the tool does well, and what it misses
- Good: automatic language The choice between English and French voices is made from the text itself.
- Good: going back Tap a sentence to hear it again as many times as you need.
- Worth knowing: two languages only Readotte reads English and French. A text in any other language will be mispronounced.
- Worth knowing: no phonetics Readotte lets you hear the word, but it does not show its phonetic transcription.
